Paris continued...
Well today we made our way to the Louvre- that place is ginormous and we managed to bypass a ginormous line with Alison's tip to buy our museum passes in the metro station... nice work! We saw all sorts of great art and we even managed to get ourselves lost in the Asian art section, where we couldn't get out, and thought we might pass out from the heat.
After the Louvre, we went to Notre Dame...it was amazing! Again, a huge place but it was far easier to navigate than the Louvre. After that, we decided to go to Musee D'Orsay where we planned to eat lunch and then see the art. Apparently, they stop serving lunch around 2:30pm or something so we were assed out of that one and opted for beers. We started talking to this really nice lady from LA next to us and come to find out, she is the mother of the guitar player in the Strokes. We took our picture with her and enjoyed our beers until we realized that we'd been chatting away all of our museum time and we only had 15 minutes left until the place closed. We immediately jumped up, she gave us some tips on what to see and what to skip, and we ran thru the place, snapping shots along the way and trying to appreciate everything as much as we could.
After that, it was DEFINITELY time to eat... we took ourselves over to this cafe where Colleen wanted a grilled cheese. Do they have those en francais? Um, no! I ordered her a croque monsieur n'avec pas du jambon (w/o the ham) and the waiter was less than amused... not sure if he was pissed about the order or the fact that another dumb American was contaminating his ears w/ sub par French. Quoi que...
We are off to Amsterdam on Friday morning and we'll write our next update from there... until then, Paris has and will continue to be wonderful and we will catch up w/ everyone soon!

We Arrived in Paris!!!
Hi everyone!
We finally arrived in Paris! Our flight was a bit delayed out of London and after trying to navigate the Metro, we finally found our really tiny hostel around 9pm last night. It's pretty cute though and it's in a really nice area, so that is good... I guess the highlight of last night would be the pizza place we found w/ karaoke. There were a ton of dead serious French people singing a million songs, our favorite being Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven (pronounced Heee-ven)." It was pretty damn funny to say the least and we actually snipered this one chick w/ our video camera, yes, video camera, and caught her chair dancing and making a fool of herself singing in French. Good times!
Don't think we didn't get up there too- we sang those Frenchies a little Neil Diamond- Sweet Caroline- and yes, the hideousness is on video too!
Well that's all for now... we saw the Eiffel Tower today and we're going to hit up the museums tomorrow. It's pretty cold here but this place is jam packed w/ people! We will definitely write more as the trip goes on. Miss everyone!
Luv, Kyle & Colleen
