Camden Times

Well, well, well... we made it to Europe once again and have survived the first leg of our abbreviated trip. London was really good fun... we managed to pack in enough good times in 2 days that most people would reserve for a week!

Friday night was looking promising when we strolled up upon Pauls entire advertising agency in the middle of a street, spilling out of a pub. Apparently, they had been awarded some prestigious something or another and there was an open tab... great, just what we needed, fresh off an 9-hour flight and ready to party.

Dinner was a bit troublesome, since it didnt occur until 10:30pm. We managed to crash a bachelorette party (or Hen party as they say here!) and made friends with a bunch of nice people that Paul works with. Good stuff at the BRB, a bar in SoHo, where we took flaming shots of sambuca and drank to our little bellys couldnt take much more without dinner. Since we were in China Town, we opted for the obvious- chinese! Paul convinced us that crispy duck was a starter we would never forget and we finally gave in and agreed to try it. To our surprise, it was actually quite good, and Colleen ate them out of house and home in terms of sweet and sour sauce. It was time for bed post-Chinois, so we headed for home in anticipation of our day in Cambridge!

Good times were amongst us- checked out Pembroke College, the fateful site where Paul and I met for the first time, saw Jesus College and snuck into Johns, after sneaking a quick peak of the closed Trinity College... all were amazing and a good site to see. Had lunch at the Free Press, a pub that had this cute little garden and we soaked up the unlikely British sun. We had great weather so we decided to go for a punt (please look this up if u arent sure what it is) on the River Cam. Paul has now earned the title of Captain of the Varsity Punting team and ruled us down the river, even during a competition with some Aussies. Verbal exchanges took place about rugby and football, and we ended up being quite good punting mates and ending up at the end at the same time.

Saw our first cricket match too... baseball burries it but what can u do, its England! It satisfied our craving for some wood-slapping sporting and we were off towards home for a night out. But just before that, and after having returned our punt, we came across of Gilligans Island rejects, hauling their punt up this hill and onto the other side of the river. We are going to hell for not having the video camera there and we wish that all of u could have seen this mockery occur!! Photographic evidence is available upon request...

Pauls band played in London on Sat night and we ended up meeting some friends while he rehearsed. 4 wines deep... no sleep... and a beer later, and we were on stage, pounding on the tamborine, rockin the marrocas, and singing the Doobie Brothers. I doubt we have a future in this but u get the gist... drunk doesnt mean ur a good muscian, no matter how many times u tell yourself u are!!!

Right then- we have arrived in Munich and it might be one of the biggest mockeries we have ever unleashed ourselves upon. No signs of Higgins or Rice yet... 10 hours after we were due to meet them, but we are confident we will run into them some place. We can only hope!

Miss everyone and we will speak to u soon...

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
